STUDENT TEACHERS:

ABOUT

WHAT IS LEARNING LIKE IN SUMMERBRIDGE

1

Interesting Academic Classes

Summerbridge classes are fun and challenging with interactive and hands-on activities. Students learn many different subjects that they might not learn in school (e.g. Psychology, Drama, Debate, and Astronomy). Students can apply their new academic study skills when they retrun to their own schools. Classes are small with only 8 to 10 students per class; students receive individual attention and opportunities to voice their ideas.

2

English Immersion

Students speak to their teachers and peers only in English (e.g. in classes, at lunch, or during performances). At Summerbridge, when we ask ‘What time is it?’, students reply “English all the time!”. While it might be daunting at first, students gradually gain the confidence to speak in English to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

3

Creativity and Life Skills Development

We believe that each student has creative ideas to share and great potential to be reached. At Summerbridge, students are in a supportive environment to think creatively and improve their self-confidence, teameork skills, leadershop abilities. Students perform skits, do cheers, showcase their talents, and much more. Mistakes are encouraged because we can learn from them and teachers and students celebrate each person’s effort to keep trying.

4

Teachers From Around the World

Students learn from teachers who come from around the world, (e.g. from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Hong Kong). Tachers are university and upper secondary school students who are energetic, fun, and eager to teacher students and share about their cultures. Students and teachers form friendshops that many last for a lifetime.

5

Dream Big

Students have the opportunity to share their hopes and dreams for the future within a sage environment. We encourage students to take ownershop of their education and pursue what they love learning. In the Summerbridge family, students and teachers inspire and support each other to chase their dreams, passions, and aspirations. We believe that anything is possible.
